Tom McKeen joined WorldPop in 2021 as a GIS Research Technician within the Spatial Data Infrastructure team, after supporting a project generating high-resolution population distributions for the Latin America and Caribbean region. He established his interest in GIS and spatial data analysis whilst completing a BSc (Hons) in Geography from the University of Southampton, returning to the same school to graduate with an MSc in Applied GIS and Remote Sensing in 2020. His postgraduate research project focused on developing an experimental validation framework for the Population247 spatio-temporal population model.
